Corporate video in Morocco: definition, examples and purpose

The term shows up in almost every brief and almost no one defines it the same way. Some call a corporate video an eight-minute company presentation, others a forty-second capsule for a trade show.

The definition below is the one that holds up in production: it describes what the film is for, not its length or its style.

The definition

What a corporate video is

A corporate video is a film produced by an organisation — company, public institution, association, industrial group — to present what it is, what it does and what it stands for, to an audience that is not necessarily buying anything: partners, authorities, candidates, employees, funders, press.

What sets it apart from advertising

Advertising seeks an action: to buy, to click, to come. A corporate video seeks understanding and trust. It can serve a commercial goal, but indirectly — and that is what changes the writing, the pace and the way it is filmed.

Corporate film, corporate video or institutional film?

In practice the terms often describe the same object. "Institutional" leans toward the organisation and its role, "corporate" toward the company and its activity. None of them has a normative definition: what matters is the scope written in the brief, not the label. In an international tender, corporate video is the most common and least ambiguous wording.

It is defined by intent, not format

A testimonial, a site film, a leadership interview or a recruitment film can all be corporate videos. What unites them is the intent — to explain and build trust — not a fixed length or a single style.

What it is actually for

Make visible what cannot be visited

An industrial site, a construction project, a transport network, a production line: realities no one will ever see in person and that a written document describes poorly.

Give a face and a voice

Leaders, teams, trades. It is often the only medium where an organisation speaks through real people rather than a logo.

Last over time

A well-framed corporate video serves for several years — on a website, at a trade show, in meetings, in recruitment. That is what justifies the preparation effort.

Align the organisation internally

The shoot forces an organisation to state what it does in one sentence. Many projects gain as much from that as from the delivered film.

Serve several channels

A master and short cut-downs planned from the shoot beat a single film re-cropped after the fact.

Real examples, shot in Morocco

Rabat Région Mobilité

A corporate video for the mobility authority of the Rabat region. A public-service subject, where the point is the organisation and the network rather than a commercial offer.

Rabat-Salé Tramway

A corporate video directed by Achraf Mounaji around a transport infrastructure: a typical case of a reality the public uses every day without ever seeing behind it.

Stellantis, Kénitra

An industrial corporate film shot on an automotive production site. The main constraint is not the image: it is filming a plant without stopping the line.

A useful counter-example: NARSA

An advertising spot broadcast on Moroccan national television. Same kind of public client, but a different intent: the spot seeks an immediate behaviour, not lasting understanding. It is not a corporate video.

The mistakes that keep coming back

Trying to say everything

A film that presents the history, the trades, the figures, the CSR, the sites and the ambitions presents nothing. The sorting happens before the shoot, not in the edit.

Deciding the length first

Length depends on the channel and the moment the film will be watched. Fixing it before knowing where it will run is like choosing a garment's size before knowing who will wear it.

Filming without preparing access

Industrial sites, government premises, public spaces: permits are requested early. They do not speed up.

Forgetting rights and languages

Usage period, territories, Arabic, French and English versions, subtitles: these are scope decisions, not delivery details.

Frequently asked questions

What is a corporate video?

A corporate video is a film produced by a company or an institution to present what it is, what it does and what it stands for, to an audience that is not necessarily a buyer: partners, authorities, candidates, employees, funders or press. It differs from advertising in its intent — to build understanding and trust rather than trigger an immediate action.

What is the difference between a corporate video and a corporate film?

In everyday use in Morocco as elsewhere, the two terms describe the same type of film. "Institutional" stresses the organisation and its role, "corporate" the company and its activity. Neither has an official definition: it is the scope written in the brief — objective, audience, distribution, deliverables — that really defines the film.

What are the benefits of a corporate video for a company?

It shows what cannot be visited — a site, a network, a production line — gives the organisation a face and a voice, serves for several years across several channels, and forces the company to state clearly what it does. It is often the only medium where it speaks through real people rather than a logo.

How much does a corporate video cost in Morocco?

At EL 25 Studio Production, a film ranges from about 15,000 to 300,000 Moroccan dirhams depending on the production setup: number of days and locations, crew size, staging, technical resources and level of finish. The gap does not come from the film's length. The breakdown of items is covered in our guide to corporate film pricing.

How long should a corporate video be?

There is no standard length, and fixing it first is the most common mistake. It follows from the channel and the moment: a homepage, a silent lobby screen, a meeting or a YouTube release do not call for the same thing. The safest approach is to plan a master and short cut-downs from the shoot.
